About this course
Do you ever feel that everyday life gets in the way of the person you want to become?
Modern life can leave us constantly reacting. There is always something else to do, somewhere else to be, another problem to solve. It can feel as though we're simply trying to keep up, with little time to pause, reflect, or reconnect with what really matters. As life becomes busier, it is easy to feel that a meaningful spiritual life belongs somewhere beyond the pressures of everyday living.
We need a method that helps is take stillness into the busyness. To find a calm core to which we can anchor ourselves in life's stormy weather.
Through practical teachings and guided meditations, this course will help you discover how to find peace, purpose, and spiritual direction in the here and now. As you bring this understanding into your daily life, ordinary moments themselves become steps along your spiritual path.
This course will help you to:
Find a calm, steady centre that you can return to throughout the day
Bring spiritual practice naturally into the challenges and opportunities of everyday life
Develop greater peace, purpose, and direction, whatever life brings
Discover that a spiritual life doesn't begin somewhere else - it begins in this moment.

Our courses have three parts:
Guided meditation
Every course includes a chance to practise meditation. No prior experience is necessary and all the meditations are guided.
Teaching
From Buddha’s teachings, these practical talks help us to solve our daily problems and find peace, happiness and, if we wish, a deeper purpose in our busy lives.
Discussion
A chance to discuss the topic of the talk and meditation with others during the break over refreshments. No one is ever ‘put on the spot’ and asked to talk in a class. The teacher will normally make time for questions, and will be happy to clarify any points during the class too.

No special clothing is needed. Our courses do not include any physical exercise and most people choose to sit on chairs, though cushions are also set out for those who prefer to sit on the floor.
-
Other than removing shoes before going in to the meditation room (they can be worn as normal elsewhere) and turning phones off during session, there are no special rules to follow. People are always very pleasantly surprised with just how informal, welcoming and down to earth Jangchub Ling is; you’ll feel right at home in no time.
