About The Inner Peace Toolkit

Spend Sunday morning in a welcoming meditation space away from life’s pressures. People from all walks of life and all levels of interest come to Jangchub Ling, with one of our most commonly heard phrases being, “I relaxed as soon as I stepped through the door.”

Start the Week in a Peaceful Space

Begin to Unwind

The class is designed to help you let go of the mental busyness that gets in the way of living your life. Taking time to meditate allows the busyness to settle, creating space for a natural sense of peace and clarity to emerge.

Build Your Inner Peace Toolkit

Each week, a short quote from Buddha’s teachings is introduced by the teacher, offering a fresh way of seeing everyday life. Its meaning becomes a practical tool you can use to create mental space beyond your meditation cushion, space that lets you choose a more peaceful and positive approach to life’s ups and downs.

Quote for August 30th:

“Inner peace, or mental peace, is the source of all our happiness.”

- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, ‘How to Transform Your Life

Enjoy Meditations for Peace and Clarity

The class uses meditations from the Meditations for Relaxation and Meditations for a Clear Mind collections. These guided practices help you release tension, settle mental busyness and discover the peace and clarity within your own mind. What You’ll Find in Each Class

Each Sunday morning follows a simple structure:

  • A short optional prayer

  • A brief breathing meditation

  • A simple teaching on the week’s quote

  • A guided meditation from one of the collections above

  • A few minutes’ silence to contemplate the quote and let the experience settle

  • Time for questions

  • Refreshments and informal conversation in our café afterwards

Enjoyed Your Sunday Class? Revisit the Meditation Each Weekday Morning

Familiarity is key in meditation. The more familiar a meditation becomes, the more deeply we experience its benefits, both on our cushion and in daily life. This is why we introduced our twenty-minute 7am Weekday Meditation sessions. These guided sessions follow the same meditation introduced in that week’s ‘Inner Peace Toolkit’ class, and finish with a few minutes gently reflecting on the meaning of the same Buddhist quote. If you’d like to deepen the experience gained in your Sunday morning class, these sessions offer a real boost.

Access to these sessions, along with all our online classes, is one of the benefits of monthly JLC membership. Find out more here.

No Course to Complete. Come When You Can.

Come to any Sunday that suits you. Attend occasionally, return when a particular quote interests you or make the class a regular part of your life. Each class stands alone, so there is nothing to catch up on if you miss a week.

Meditation Is for Everyone

You don’t need any previous experience, and you don’t need to be Buddhist. Everything is explained clearly, and you can meditate comfortably on a chair rather than on a cushion if you prefer. Most people do! Just come as you are. There is a fuller Q&A at the bottom of this page and you are very welcome to get in touch with any questions. We’d love to hear from you.
